WHAT IS UGC NET ELIGIBILITY

• Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks in Masters’ Degree (50% in case of SC/ST/PWD)from universities/institutions recognized by UGC are eligible to apply for this Test.
• Candidates who are appearing in Master’s degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited can also apply for this Test.
• Candidates are advised to appear for UGC NET in the subject in which they have done post-Graduation .

WHAT IS AGE LIMIT FOR UGC NET

For Assistant Professor : There is no Upper Age Limit to appear in UGC NET exam.

For JRF : The candidate should not be more than 31 years. (28 yr for OBC, SC, ST, PWD and Female candidates)

 

WHAT IS UGC NET EXAM PATTERN

The UGC NET exam Consist of two papers. The first paper is a general paper which is common to all subjects and the second is a subject-specific paper.

Paper 1 : It consist of total 50 questions.(General Paper)

Paper 2 : It consist of total 100 questions.(Subject Paper)

Total Duration of Exam is 3 hours and that there is no break between the two papers.

There is No negative marking in UGC NET exam

Each Question carry 2 marks and total marks will be 300

WHAT IS UGC NET SYLLABUS

UGC NET Consist of 2 papers

• Paper 1 consist of Questions from 10 topics which are Research Aptitude, Teaching Aptitude, Reading Comprehension, Communication, People and Environment, Higher Education, Reasoning & Math, Data Interpretation, ICT, Indian Logic and Analytical Reasoning.
• Paper 2 Syllabus is different for each Subject. It will have Subject Specific questions related to the subject chosen by the candidate. For Detail Syllabus Students can Refer To NTA website.

UGC NET Exam is conducted two times a year in June and December. Exam is conducted in online mode in different shifts.

• Exam Fees is Rs 1150 for the General category
• Rs 600 for EWS/OBC
• Rs 325 for SC/ ST/ PWD
